Nate Manic lands at #2 and #4 on Bandcamp Techno/House charts with debut album

Post Date:

We are thrilled to share that, after a strong showing on our Friday May 7th release, the debut self-titled album by Nate Manic has landed at number 2 on Bandcamp’s House Best Seller’s list and number 4 on the Techno chart!!  We can’t thank everyone enough for the outpouring of support for this album.  The hour-long ten song LP has been getting a ridiculous amount of positive feedback and play from DJs from Chicago to the Bay Area and we anticipate a very strong summer of sales.

The album was written and composed during a years-long period of reflection and healing after an especially rough time in the life of the Chicago transplant.  100% produced and performed by the artist, there is only one sample appearing on the entire album, a vocal snippet from Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters Theme” which is given away for free as part of the final bonus track, “Bustin”.

The first single from the album, “You Will Not Ruin Me”, will be released around August 1st and features remixes by Bored Lored, Justin Cudmore and Mike Dearborn.  A music video courtesy of Chicago artist Mindy Sherman will be premiered in conjunction with the release as well.  Fans can get an advance preview of the video by visiting the Quaint But Extra Youtube Page.

Nate Manic was most notably known previously as the Talent Buyer and Music Director for the legendary Chicago club Smartbar.  He served from 2009 until 2013 and was responsible for a number of very important changes which resulted in an incredible period of growth for the club.  This is his first real offering to the World Electronic Music community since his departure from the club in September of 2013. Nate currently resides in Oakland, CA where he manages Quaint But Extra and performs with DJ Charles Hawthorne at venues across the Bay Area and beyond.
